Disney’s Magic Kingdom is the classic Walt Disney World park – the one that springs to mind when you think of a Disney park, with Cinderella Castle – and based on Walt Disney’s original concept at Disneyland, California.

Disney’s Magic Kingdom is quintessential Disney. If you were to only have 1 day at the Walt Disney World parks, and it was your first visit, it would probably be here you’d choose. Home to Cinderella Castle and the three Mountain rides, there is something for everyone. For thrill seekers, make sure you plan to visit Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Princess lovers will want to meet the Princesses at Princess Fairytale Hall, Ariel in her Grotto, Belle with her Enchanted Tales and maybe take a visit to Bibbiddi Bobbiddi Boutique to be styled as a princess for the day. Pirate fans can visit Pirates of the Caribbean and the Pirates League to be made into a pirate for themselves. There are rides for little ones all over the park, but you might find a lot of time spent in Fantasyland, home to “it’s a Small World”, Peter Pan’s Flight, Dumbo, the Carousel and so much more. Add some amazing shows and parades to the rides and you have a magical experience like no other. There’s a lot to do so make sure you know your ‘must dos’ before you get there.
What’s within Disney’s Magic Kingdom?
The Magic Kingdom is a kingdom of six vast lands. On entry into the Magic Kingdom visitors pass under a fully operational train station where visitors can board the steam train that circles the Magic Kingdom. Riding the steam train is a magical experience in itself and one you can’t miss, but on your first visit to the Magic Kingdom, you should continue straight ahead as you enter the first land of the Magic Kingdom, Mainstreet USA. As you round the town square the centrepiece of the Magic Kingdom, Cinderella’s castle is revealed. For some, it’s a jaw-dropping experience, full of the anticipation of the magic that awaits, for others, it’s an emotional one, as we remember the magical moments we have already experienced and look forward to more.
The experience of seeing the castle is unique to everyone. For me, it sends tingles down my spine, as I realise I’m back in the happiest place on earth.
